Final Day - Team Debrief

10 days, two hotels, 100’s of contacts, two seminars, 90+ degree heat, 100% humidity, intense tropical rain storms, several nightly excursions, transofrmed minds, and truth imparted, “it is finished”…

We had a six hour team debrief today.  We took two hours and praised God for all the things he did (Yes, it took that long God was really, really on the move here!). Then we moved into written affirmations for each of the team members; followed by a period of verbal affirmation and lunch.

Most of us are extending our stays a few days before departing to Thailand, India, Memphis, and San Francisco.  It was a life changing transformational trip for all involved and we invite you to hear about the stories first hand at our team debrief on November 20th at 7pm at the Johnson’s home in Saratoga. http://repindonesia2010.eventbrite.com

Thank you for supporting us!  We look foward to sharing our stories with you!

Convergence Train-the-Trainer Workshop - Day 3

Today was the last day of the train the trainer seminar. After finishing off the remaining sections of the forum, doing i-learning training and the last online assessment there was opportunity to pray with people.

The Indonesian consultants then got a chance to give testimony of what God had done. The number of people who felt empowered and challenged was heartening to see. One of the quotes that pretty much summed it up was made by one of the participants when she said she was “giddy with excitement”. The final part of the day was when the Indonesian consultants came up and prayed for each of us.
I don’t know what they said because it was in Bahasa, but it sounded good and powerful. I caught the last bit with the familiar term “banksa banksa” - going out to all the nations.
I reckon that’s a prayer worth receiving.

Convergence Train-the-Trainer Workshop - Day 2

Today was our second amazing day of the Convergence Train-the-Trainer Workshop here in Seminyak, Bali. We are falling more and more in love with the amazing Indonesian people. I have four people at my table that I am facilitating—three pastors and a businessman. Our time so far has been very rich and meaningful together and it is evident that the power of God’s Word is penetrating strongholds and changing dichotomized thinking. Our team was blessed by Dr. Jakob Ezra and his team who treated us to a phenomenal dinner on Jimbaran beach after a very, very long day. The table was laden with crab, prawns, snapper, mussels and the list goes on and on (the extravagance of God). We are blown away by their hospitality and devine connections have been made. I have a sense that we will be back to Bali!

Convergence Train-the-Trainer Workshop - Day 1

Today was the first day of our Convergence Train-the-Trainer Workshop.  We met in a large ballroom where each team member was seated at a table with 5-6 “trainees” (per table) who have come from many provinces in Indonesia. Over 70% of the participants have either pastored churches before or are presently serving as senior leaders of their congregations.

This was a time of stretching for all of us.  We can see how God specifically handpicked us and set us at each table with the right people to be the facilitators while Brett did the training/teaching.  Brett did a tremendous job presenting the ideas of integrating our Career, Community, Creativity and Calling.   At one point Jakoep Ezra who is the leader that put this who event together, who was seated next to me, leaned over and whispered in my ear, “This is a revolutionary idea for pastors.”  He was thrilled to hear Brett challenging the participants to see that there is no difference between a pastor preaching on a Sunday morning and a businessman or woman leading in their business during the week because both are anointed by God to be ministers.

Throughout the morning there would be breaks in the teaching for “Applied Learning” exercises.  Each one of us on the team facilitated the questions at each table.  The Indonesian people are so open-hearted and kind.  We have already seen how God is opening eyes and stirring hearts.

Preparing and Moving

Today was moving day as the team made ready to change hotels.  A gathering in the lobby prior to departure allowed time for last minute logistics and Gareth gave an i-Learning update.  A short time of sharing of thoughts, prayers and a vision e-mailed to us by by Khanh Ho, one of our rep alumni, and the intercessors team back home.  We discussed how blessed we all were by staff and hotel and various ways we worked to be a blessing back to them.

Arriving at new digs and a small reception with some of the Power Character members took place in the evening as we shared a meal together.  We are off and running for a rich time ahead, starting full throttle tomorrow morning.
